Kids Take the Stage

 

Mondays February 22 and March 1, 8, and 15, from 4- 5 pm.

Kids ages 6-10.

Fee:  $35 per person

Instructor: Faith Steinke

Location:  Community Room, Archbold Community Library, Archbold Ohio.

Have a drama queen that’s just dying to take the stage?
Or a budding actor that just needs a little polishing?

Then enroll your little star in “Kids Take the Stage”, a drama program
designed to help kids learn the basics of theater through fun games
and workshops. Kids will learn how to work together as a cast and build
self-confidence for their next big audition. No prior theater experience is
necessary, but space is limited so sign up soon! The class is taught by
Faith (Knapp) Steinke of Bryan.

Class size is limited to 15 students to help insure that each participant receives plenty of instruction and assistance throughout the workshop.

Fun With Paint

 

Thursdays, February 18, 25, March 4, 11 from 4- 5 pm.

Kids grades 1-4.

Fee:  $40 per person

Instructor:  Kellie Creighton

Location:  Scout Cabin, Ruihley Park, Archbold, Ohio

Class size is limited to 12 students to help insure that each participant receives plenty of instruction and assistance throughout the workshop. 

This class will introduce young artists to many different painting styles, including watercolor, stamping, and canvas painting, focusing on the styles of various famous artists.

Splash the Canvas

 

Saturdays February 27 and March 6 from 10 am-noon.

Kids grades 5-8.

Fee:  $40 per person

Hip to be Square

 

Saturdays, February 27 and March 13 from 10 am- noon.

Adults 16 and up.

Fee:  $25

Instructor: Laurie Dembicki

Location:  Community Room, Archbold Community Library, Archbold, Ohio

This class is an introduction to knitting and felting. You will learn to knit and purl in the round and make pretty little flowers to adorn your bag. The pattern is easy enough for the beginner and if you already know how to knit, it’s a great way to express your creativity with your choice of yarn color and embellishments.


Materials Needed: Finished Size: Approximately 13” wide, 10” tall
1 skein of color A (purse top & flowers) (approx. 220 yards total)
2 skeins of color B (purse bottom) (approx. 440 yards total)
***Yarn must be 100% Wool **** Suggested brands: Patons Classic Wool, Cascade 220, Lamb’s Pride
Optional - 1 skein Novelty yarn (fun fur works well but, use anything with texture that is not to bulky)
Size 13 US circular needles (24”)
Size 10 Straight needles – (to make flowers)
2 Stitch markers (two different colors)

Adult Painting Workshop

 

Saturday, March 6 from 9 am until 4 pm ( lunch is on your own)

Adults 18 and up

Fee:

Instructor:  Kathy Funderburg

Location:   Fairlawn- Adult Living Multi-Purpose Room, Archbold, Ohio

( When traveling east on Lutz Road, enter at the 2nd driveway and continue around the main building to the stop sign.  Go right at the sign approximately 100 yards, park and enter at the Westhaven entrance.)

Supply list:

Small sketchbook ( size doesn't matter here!), pencils, kneaded eraser

2- 11 x 14, 10 x 12 canvas or canvas board

1- 8 oz or larger:  Modeling Paste (medium or heavy)  Sometimes called Moulding Paste ( This is not Gesso!  Joint compound won't work either!)

Large brushes at least 1", 1 should be square edge ( No whimpy, skinny detail brushes)

Gesso ( if you want)

Palette

Water container

Paper towels

Palette knife

Newspaper

Old Hair dryer if you have one ( or more)

Acrylic tube paint:

Need:  Cad Red (medium), Cad Yellow (medium) Pthalo or Ultamarine Blue, Paynes Gray, Yellow Ochre

Kind of optional:

Black, White

Optional:

Purple, Green, Orange, Burnt Amber, Burnt Sienna

Note:  Please... no pre-mixed "decor" paint bottles!!

Diggin' Clay

 

Saturdays, September 12 and 19 or October 12 and 24 from 10 am - 12 noon.

All kids and/or parents ages 7 and up ( Children under the age of nine must participate in the workshop with an adult).

Fee:  $40 per person or $60 for child and parent together.

Instructor:  Michelle McKinney

Location:  Glass Pieces Studio at 106 N. Lincoln, West Unity, Ohio.

During this workshop, we will try our hands at working on the potter's wheel, as well as creating some interesting projects through traditional hand-building techniques.  We will also have a chance to let the participants give their projects an extra special touch by trying various glazing methods. 

Class space is limited to eight to help insure that each participant receives plenty of instruction and assistance throughout the workshop.

Creative Arts Camp offers a high quality, process-centered arts experience which allows students to explore their creativitiy through a variety of arts rotations, including drama, music, and 2D and 3D art.
